Q: Where do I get software to program my Motorola radio?
A: Wiscomm or ShopWiscomm does not offer Motorola software for sale. Motorola Solutions Inc (MSI) requires a software license agreement (SLA) be signed. This is a contract between yourself or agency and MSI. Once the SLA is signed you will need to open up an account with Motorola that allows you to purchase the software needed. Software for most radios runs about $300 US and includes two years of updates. In addition to software you will also need the programming cables for the specific radio you operate. Q: I need software for my Vertex Standard, Blackbox or Titan radio.
A: These manufacturers are a bit more liberal with the programming software. All is available for a reasonable sum. Give us a call for more details.
Q: Can you quote me some Motorola APX radios?
A: Currently Wiscomm is only a parts, batteries and accessories reseller for Motorola Solutions and do not sell the actual radios. The APX radios are mucho complicated and you would be best served contacting your LOCAL Motorola Solutions FULL LINE dealer servicing your area. A great place to locate your LOCAL dealer is through the USMSS group.
Q: Can we set-up an account with terms?
A: In order for Wiscomm to offer our incredible pricing we request all orders are prepaid at time of placement. Most commonly this is with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. We also accept Paypal. Some of our clients choose to print out an order and mail in with a company or municipal check (this is great option for Public Safety agencies). Many of our international clients utilize a wire transfer or T/T payment. We can provide that information to you upon request.
Q: How long does it take to ship my order?
A: This varies. Common consumables like cables, antennas and some select parts can ship the same day. The vast majority of our orders are shipped the following business day. Some of our partners allow drop shipments direct. Motorola Solutions does NOT allow dropships. Bottom line is if you have a specific deadline please contact us and we can give a better feel of availbility.
Q: Do you charge sales tax?
A: Currently Wiscomm only charges sales tax for shipments being delivered to an address in Wisconsin only. We do NOT collect sales for any other state as Wiscomm LLC has no physical facilities outside of Wisconsin (ya, were looking at you California). Wisconsin customers who are tax exempt and can provide the documents to prove it will be issued a special code that will credit the sales tax off your online order. Please contact us before placing your order for details. We do not credit back sales tax after an order has been placed.
Q: Do you ship overnight?
A: Yes. Our preferred carrier is FedEx but we also offer UPS and USPS for overnight services. Before dropping the wad on overnight delivery please contact us to determine availability of your items. Cut off times for in-stock overnight is as follows: FedEx: 7:00pm, UPS: 7:30pm, USPS: 5:00pm (all times Central US Time).
Q: Do you ship International?
A: Heck ya, some days half our shipments our international. Most commonly to Australia and Canada but over the years we successfully shipped orders to over 100 countries worldwide. We suggest using "USPS Priority Express International (EMS)" as this offers pretty quick delivery, reasonable costs and duties. We are also able to ship to your US-based Freight Forwarder if you so desire. Unfortunately we are unable to ship to the following countries: Russian Federation, Burma (Myanmar), Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria. ** We do not ship using DHL or any third-party forwarder using DHL as the pick-up carrier.
Q: How about US Government and Military Orders?
A: We do lots of business with the US Government. Use your Paycard / Credit Card with confidence. USPS Priority Mail for APO/FPO/DPO works great and offers pretty fast delivery to bases worldwide. For US addresses we suggest FedEx Ground. See the our seperate US Government page for additional information about us.
Q: What is your warranty / return policy?
A: A very brief summary, All ordered parts and accessories may be subject to 20% restocking fee and must be returned in unused condition in original packaging, any products showing signs of use will be returned to buyer and no refund will be made. Refund amount is for the product purchased and does not include any shipping charges, customs charges or duties. We request all returns arrive within 30 days of initial shipment.
For hygienic reasons, earpieces or audio accessories that may have had human contact cannot be returned.
Due to the nature, programming cables cannot be returned; we happily exchange any defective cables for the exact replacement within 30 days of original purchase. Physical damage is not warranted.
All used radio equipment sold as "used" or "refurbished" features a 30 day replacement warranty. All "New" radios, parts, batteries and accessories are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty for the particular item. We are happy to work with you and the manufacturer under any warranty requirements. Manufacturer warranty periods vary based on Manufacturer and product.
Q: Where is Wiscomm located, can I come to visit?
A: We are located in God's Country also known as Wisconsin. Home of good cheese and even better football teams we are also in the backyard (not really the backyard) to Motorola and Vertex Standard. This allows us to pull inventory from our suppliers by 3pm for next day delivery into our warehouse allowing for quicker shipments to you. We are blessed with great transportation options with most of the US within two days transit via FedEx Ground and USPS Priority Mail services. As for guests, our insurance company said we could have our dogs in the shop or customers, not both. We went with the dogs. Sorry.
